How to register and check your contributions as a domestic worker with ANSES
ANSES allows domestic workers to check their social security contributions, verify if their employer has made the corresponding payments, and access various social benefits. Keeping track of work history is essential to ensure coverage for health insurance, family allowances, and future access to retirement benefits.
The domestic workers' regime includes different categories based on the number of hours worked per week and establishes specific obligations for employers regarding the payment of contributions and dues.
Through My ANSES, workers can review their registration status, check the periods they have contributed, and confirm that payments are correctly credited.
What is the domestic workers' regime and who does it cover?
The domestic workers' regime includes those who perform cleaning, maintenance, and other domestic activities in private homes. It also includes those who provide personal assistance, companionship, or non-therapeutic care for sick, elderly, or disabled individuals.
The regulations cover all individuals registered under this employment modality, regardless of the number of employers they have. Registration is mandatory and guarantees access to labor rights, social security, and pension benefits.
Categories of work based on weekly hours worked
The regime establishes three categories according to the weekly workload. The first corresponds to those who work less than 12 hours per week; the second, to those who work between 12 and 16 hours; and the third, to those who provide services for 16 hours per week or more.
This classification is important because it determines the amount of contributions and dues that the employer must make. Additionally, it directly influences access to certain benefits, such as full health insurance coverage and pension contributions.
Contributions and dues: how to know if your employer is up to date?
Workers can verify if contributions have been made correctly by logging into My ANSES with their CUIL and Social Security Password. Within the Work option, go to Work History where the details of registered periods and contributions made can be found.
Regularly reviewing this information allows for the detection of possible missing contributions or errors. If inconsistencies are found, it is advisable to contact the employer to regularize the situation and avoid future inconveniences when applying for pension benefits.
Family Allowances in ANSES that domestic workers can access
Registered domestic workers can access various benefits administered by ANSES, as long as they meet the established requirements for each benefit.
Among the main allowances are the Maternity Allowance, the Universal Child Allowance (AUH), and the Pregnancy Allowance for Social Protection, aimed at supporting families during different stages.
Health Insurance and Retirement for domestic workers: requirements for full coverage
To have health insurance coverage, the contributions must reach the amount corresponding to the category of 16 hours per week or more. When the amount paid is lower, the worker can make up the difference on their own, or the employer can cover that additional payment.
In terms of pension contributions, a similar situation occurs. For contributions to fully count towards future retirement, the dues must also meet the minimum required for that category. If they do not reach the required amount, there is the possibility to make up the difference to maintain pension coverage and ensure access to benefits when age and contribution requirements are met.
