Pudgy Penguins Announces: Original Adventure Comic Series Pax Pengu & Polly to Launch at 2026 San Diego Comic-Con
Coin Circle (120BTC.COM) reports: Pudgy Penguins has announced that it will officially debut its first original comic series, The Adventures of Pax Pengu & Polly, at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). This comic series, divided into three volumes, will lay the foundation for the future development of the Pudgy Penguins entertainment universe and establish the brand value of Pudgy Penguins.
First Original Comic Trilogy, Establishing Brand Universe
The "Adventures of Pax Pengu & Polly" comic series consists of three volumes: To The Berg, Betrayalon The Berg, and A New Dawn on The Berg. The main storyline follows the protagonist Pax Pengu as he embarks on a journey across Antarctica after receiving a mysterious letter concerning his missing family. Along the way, he meets his companion Polly, and together they face the survival crisis threatening their home, "Berg Island." This work concretizes the character images that Pudgy Penguins has accumulated over the years on social media and online games, filling in the gaps from the original character design and establishing a sustainable worldview for the brand.
This adventure trilogy is written by author Vivian Lin and illustrated by Afiq Salam. Peter Lobanov, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Pudgy Penguins, serves as the creative director. The creative team has invested nearly a year in preliminary planning, transforming existing community legends and character foundations into a logically coherent historical and geographical framework. The creators emphasize that the mission of this series is to establish a worldview that can accommodate narrative developments for decades to come.
Fully Hand-Drawn Illustrations, Emphasizing No AI Used
In terms of visual presentation, illustrator Salam created all images by hand, without using any AI-generated imagery. The artist employs a self-taught comic style, using a brisk narrative pace and cinematic composition to recreate scenes of icebergs and polar adventures. Salam stated that when depicting Pax Pengu's emotional journey in search of his family, he incorporated his personal experiences of losing loved ones, which adds deeper emotional resonance, hope, and fear, bridging the gap between readers and characters.
Physical Premiere at San Diego Comic-Con Approaching
The Adventures of Pax Pengu & Polly will have its live premiere at booth 2846 during the San Diego Comic-Con from July 23 to 26, with a single comic priced at $9.99. Additionally, the official release of a globally limited edition of 1,000 copies of the hardcover collection, The Berg Collection, is priced at $49.99. The event will not only provide opportunities for creator signings but will also showcase related merchandise. After the comic-con event, the series products will gradually be available for sale through physical retail channels and the Pudgy Penguins official website.
