According to sources familiar with the matter, Trump's aides and allies are discussing a personnel arrangement: if Trump appoints Hassett as the next Federal Reserve chairman, current Treasury Secretary, Benett, may also serve as the White House National Economic Council director.
This move would allow Benett to oversee the overall economic policy of the Trump administration, integrating the regulatory powers of the Treasury Department and White House economic affairs. The specific arrangement has not yet been finalized.
A White House official stated that any personnel changes are speculative until President Trump formally announces. A representative from the U.S. Treasury Department did not respond to a request for comment. (Jinse Finance)
