SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won stated on July 26 that South Korea must become an AI native country, aiming for every individual to have at least one AI agent. He pointed out that if this goal is achieved, South Korea will become a global AI testing ground, promoting the experimentation and application of various AI technologies. Chey emphasized that SK Group will provide more opportunities for AI development through continuous R&D investment, and noted that reducing AI costs is crucial. He mentioned that current AI costs are too high and must be lowered through various means to allow more people to enjoy the benefits of AI. Chey suggested that South Korea could reduce AI costs by expanding the production scale of storage chips and building more AI data centers, creating a global AI data center hub connecting the United States, Europe, and Asia.
