Philippine Police Rescue Kidnapped Chinese National, Victim Forced to Transfer Around $400,000 in Cryptocurrency
BlockBeats News, January 20th, according to ABS-CBN News, the Pasig City police in the Philippines reportedly rescued a Chinese citizen kidnapped by Chinese kidnappers on January 16th. The victim was illegally detained by four knife-wielding thugs, forced to transfer around $400,000 worth of cryptocurrency, and an additional $14,000 in cash. The kidnappers broke into the victim's apartment on Roxas Boulevard, claiming the victim owed them $1 million and threatening to harvest the victim's organs or sell them to Cambodia. The victim was ultimately rescued after sending a distress message to a friend.
