Due to a hung jury, the $25 million Ethereum MEV case has been declared a mistrial.
BlockBeats News, November 8th, according to Cointelegraph's report, the New York Federal Court declared a mistrial in the case of the two brothers Anton and James Peraire-Bueno as the jury could not reach a unanimous decision on guilt or innocence.
The two were accused in connection with a 2023 Ethereum chain MEV attack, which obtained around $25 million in about 12 seconds. The prosecution alleged that their actions constituted a "bait and switch," involving fraud and money laundering. The defense argued that such transactions were more akin to on-chain "front-running" in a game-like behavior. The case, which lasted three weeks, ultimately ended in a mistrial due to the jury's split opinions.
